Flash Fiction: The Egg

Egg yolk slid across the counter, carried by the elusive albumen. She wiped at it with a paper towel, but it slipped out of her fingers. After four more tries, she yanked a knife from the rack and stabbed the yolk.

The pleasure she felt killed her appetite.
